LAHORE: Canada and Pakistan will jointly work for the capacity building of teachers while benefiting from each other’s educational system. In this regard, Canada would support for enhancing professional growth and technical expertise of university teachers. These views were expressed by Canadian Association of University Teachers Executive Director David Robinson while talking to Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUSA) President Dr Mahboob Hussain during a meeting. The meeting was arranged by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan’s Learning Innovation Division on the directions of HEC Chairman Dr Tariq Banuri. In the 40-minute long meeting, Dr Hussain apprised Robinson of the challenges and difficulties being faced by teachers in Pakistan and academic systems in different universities. He discussed various areas of collaboration in higher education sector of both the countries. It was decided in the meeting that FAPUASA and Canadia’s University Teachers Association with the help of HEC would sign an MoU for inviting teachers to each other’s country.
