NAB DG vows to make province corruption free

Javed says nothing can deter the watchdog’s resolve in attaining its mission

QUETTA: Balochistan National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director General Mohammad Abid Javed has said the bureau will continue working to make Balochistan corruption free.

"Nothing can deter the bureau’s resolve in eradicating corruption through a holistic approach,” said the DG NAB while talking to the complainants during an open court held at the bureau’s Balochistan office on Thursday.



“The bureau has a strict zero tolerance policy against corruption and corrupt elements,” he added.

On the directives of NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, the DG NAB held an open court during which a large number of complainants visited the office and submitted complaints against government functionaries, departments and private individuals.

Javed calmly listened to all the complainants hailing from different parts of the province and issued on-spot directives on various complaints.



“In light of the documented proof submitted by the complainants, strict action will be taken against the wrongdoers,” said Javed, adding that relief would be provided to the affectees and looted national wealth recovered.

He reiterated that no leniency with those looting national wealth would be tolerated, adding that the elements involved in making people’s lives miserable by looting public at large would be dealt with an “iron fist”.

“The premier anti-corruption watchdog alone cannot eradicate corruption, people from all walks of life should come forward and play their vital role in eradicating this menace once and for all,” the DG NAB noted.
