Members of IJT, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), can be seen in a video footage surrounding the victim, who has been identified as Awais Rind, the enrolled varsity student's husband.
The IJT members then proceeded to slap him around with his wife yelling out, asking why they are hitting him, as well as, pleading with them to stop.
"What has he done tell me......he's my husband stop," the woman is seen saying in the video.

Rind is believed to have gone to pick up his wife from the history department of the university.
PU vice-chancellor Niaz Ahmed has taken notice of the incident, saying that strict action will be taken against those found responsible.
Ahmed said that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
This is not the first time the varsity has seen an incident like this as on-campus 'moral policing' by IJT workers is commonplace at Punjab University.
