The arrest came hours after an amateur video went viral on the social media showing the enraged woman yelling at the police officials, badmouthing and threatening them for not allowing her entry into the Diplomatic Enclave because her vehicle’s registration plate was missing.
The Diplomatic Enclave is a high security zone where foreign diplomatic missions and government buildings are located.

The woman, who said she was a doctor and had recently returned from the United States, used a senior official’s name to threaten the police officials.
She accused the police officials of misbehaving with her, though the video shows that it was the woman who shouted at the officials and hurled profanities.
She could be seen asking the officials repeatedly for a ‘genuine reason’ for denying her entry into the high security zone, though the officials told her that her vehicle has no number plate.

Soon after the incident, the police registered a case against the woman on different charges. A source told Express News that the woman, identified as Dr Shehla, was arrested from a local housing society on Saturday night.
Subsequently, she was sent to jail on judicial remand.
Taking notice of the incident, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi ordered an inquiry into the matter. “The VIP culture will not be tolerated in ‘Naya Pakistan’. Everyone is equal in the eye of the law,” he said.
The state minister went on to say that the Islamabad police enjoy complete support of the government in performing their duties.
