33 ghost janitors sacked in Quetta

During a Balochistan Health Department crackdown

QUETTA: The Balochistan Health Department has conducted a crackdown against ghost employees at the Quetta Civil Hospital.

Thirty-three janitors, who were drawing salaries but not showing up for work, were sacked.



Medical Superintendent (MS) Civil Hospital Dr Muhammad Saleem Abro has expressed indignation towards ghost employees, directing authorities to take action against illegal release of salaries to sacked and absent employees.

The report revealed that up to 33 Muslims were appointed as janitors which is against the law.



After taking charge, Abro vowed to bring positive reforms in Balochistan's largest government hospital by ensuring that the whole staff performed its responsibilities with honesty.

For the past couple of months, dozens of sacked civil hospital employees had been receiving government salaries through political influence which plagued the already dilapidated health department.
