QUETTA: Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) President Akhtar Mengal has said his party and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have jointly fought the non-political forces during the by-polls, which is evident from the fact that their candidate Ali Akbar Mengal won the PB-40 Khuzdar seat.
Addressing a public gathering in Wadh on Monday, Mengal said, “Despite hurdles, the people of Balochistan reposed their trust in our candidate.”

Province’s welfare more important than ministries: Mengal

JUI-F central leader Maulana Qamaruddin, provincial ameer Senator Maulana Faiz Muhammad, MPA Akhtar Hussain Langove, Hamal Kalmati, Ahmed Nawaz Baloch and others were present.
On BNP-M’s six-point agenda, Mengal said, “Our memo is the voice and prime demands of the people of Balochistan.”
In a sarcastic tone, he said, “Even if we don’t see our demands being implemented, our conscience is satisfied because we have done our job.”

BNP-M wants its chief minister, not BAP’s

He said the issue of missing persons was on the top of their demands, because Baloch mothers were looking for their loved ones. “I can understand their pain and grief because my family has been waiting for my elder brother’s return for many years,” Mengal said.
“The Baloch nation has been demanding its rights on natural resources rather than ministries,” he said, adding that their political strive for rights was within the Constitution.
On the victory of BNP-M and MMA’s joint candidate Ali Akbar Mengal on PB-40 Khuzdar (not officially declared), Mengal said, “The people of Khuzdar have rejected the non-political forces during the by-polls. The political heirs of Baba-e-Balochistan (Mir Ghous Bukhsh Bizenjo) have been using his ideology for political gains instead of following it.”

Mengal urges APC to take up province’s issues

Firing a broadside at the federal government over granting citizenship to Afghan refugees, the BNP-M president said, “The people of Balochistan have a very clear stance over the repatriation of Afghan refugee. If the prime minister wants to grant citizenship to Afghan refugees, first he should declare the country an international orphanage because no one can bear the burden of refugees for decades.”
On the water issue in Gwadar, Mengal said, “The development and prosperity of Gwadar can be seen in documents, but on ground the owners of the heart of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor are demanding clean water.”
