SBKWU students urged to go for research
NA deputy speaker says PM Imran will build Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Quetta soon
QUETTA:
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri has said studying of some 10,000 girls in Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University (SBKWU) guarantees a bright future for Balochistan.
“Students should not obtain education for just getting employment rather they should spend their energy in the field of research so that they can perform an important role in the development of the province and the country,” said the deputy speaker while speaking to students during his visit to SBKWU.
Separate schools for boys, girls in every UC a must: CM
SBKWU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Rukhsana Jabeen, faculty members and government officials were also present on the occasion.
Suri said, “The female students are talented, who, if provided with an opportunity of quality education, can work for the country's development.”
He said the role of women could not be ignored in Balochistan's development.
“An educated woman can make her whole family educated; thus, paving the way for them to perform their role in the country's progress,” he added.
Establishment of 500 community schools in far-flung areas on the cards
Suri said education was the topmost priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in its endeavour to make Pakistan a great country.
The federal government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan would establish more quality educational institutions in Balochistan for female students, he added.
He said Imran had already constructed Shaukat Khanum hospitals in Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi and another would be built in Quetta soon. The prime minister had made the announcement in that regard during his recent visit to the provincial capital, he added.
Later, the NA deputy speaker took round of various departments, including the security control room and library. Vice Chancellor Rukhsana Jabeen presented a shield to him on the occasion.
Earlier, Suri chaired a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner Office to discuss various issues related to the city, including education, health and water.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the federal government would fully support provincial government for provision of clean water, standard education and health facilities to the people.
He said the past regimes had ignored the people of Balochistan and kept them deprived of basic facilities like clean water, for which they were left at the mercy of tanker mafia. However, the present federal and provincial governments were taking practical steps to address all the problems being faced by the public, he added.
He directed the district administration officials to visit their respective areas and resolve the longstanding problems of the people.
Deputy Commissioner Quetta Capt (retd) Tahir Abbasi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Naseebullah Kakar, Quetta District Health Officer Dr Shair Muhammad Satakzai, Wasa Managing Director Walim Muhammad Bareach, education department official Muhammad Iranfan Ahmed, Muteeb Ahmed and other officials attended the meeting.
