KARACHI:
The SHC granted permission on Tuesday to the suspects in a police fund corruption reference to travel to UK between November 5 and November 23. The case was heard before a divisional bench headed by Justice Iqbal Kalhoro where bail applications were filed by former IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali and others.

The court combined all bail pleas except the applications of suspects Kamran Rashid and Anwar Hussain, who have already been given permission to travel abroad. The court also extended the interim bail of the remaining suspects until November 9. In addition to Jamali, the suspects also included former IG Tanveer Ahmed Tahir and works and services sub-engineer Rizwan Hussain. According to NAB, the suspects caused a loss of Rs150 million to the national exchequer through embezzlement in the police fund. The suspects allegedly administered cuts in salaries of the policemen and also committed fraud of millions after misquoting maintenance expenditures of police vans.
