ISLAMABAD:
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Sunday took notice of the assault on a Punjab policeman by Lahore District Bar Association (LDBA) lawyers.

Justice Nisar directed Inspector General Punjab police Muhammad Tahir to appear before the court on October 13 along with a comprehensive report pertaining to the incident, said a statement issued by the apex court.

Notices were also issued to Pakistan Bar Council vice-chairman Ahsan Bhoon and LDBA general secretary and president.

It is pertinent to mention that video of the incident went viral on the social media.

Sub-Inspector Samar Riaz Khan lodged a first information report (FIR) against advocates Saif Khokhar, Nabeel Haider, Mustafa Khokhar and 14 others, who he claimed had beat him up and detained illegally.
