MULTAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Javed Hashmi on Wednesday claimed that the internal differences within the ruling party would not let the government complete its tenure.

Hashmi was speaking outside his Multan residence, where he said, "All politicians are products of the establishment".

The PML-N leader said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government would only complete two years of the five-year public mandate given to it in the July 25 polls.

"Look, there are more than five different factions in the ruling party and this internal division led to disqualification of Salman Naeem from PP-217," Hashmi said.

On October 1, the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified Muhammad Salman, an independent-turned-Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmaker.

Salman had defeated the incumbent foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the last general elections for PP-217 seat of the Punjab Assembly.

The decision came in the wake of a petition filed by a local leader of PTI who highlighted that Salman was underage, hence deeming disqualifying him as a lawmaker.

"All of my predictions that I made during the 2014 sit-in have been proven right thus far," he added.

He called on Naeem to exercise his right to an appeal with the ECP.

The PML-N leader also claimed that the ruling party's very own members were enemies of each other owing to the groupings.

Drawing his attention to the National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) performance, Hashmi said that the apex anti-graft watchdog had failed in its aim to rid the country of corruption.

"Even the country's top judge has agreed with me that NAB has been unable to bring about any change in the country," Hashmi said.

He said the NAB is "working in connivance with thieves. How can an institution like this ever bring about any good?".

Drawing Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar into his line of fire, the PML-N leader said the top judge should stop collecting funds from the poor masses and instead provide speedy justice in the plethora of pending court cases.
