Former Mithi judge handed death sentence

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court awarded death sentences to former district and sessions judge Sikandar Lashari of Mithi and Irfan for the murder of Aqib, son of District and Session Judge Khalid Hussain Shahani.

It recorded statements of 25 witnesses and four eye witnesses. The government lawyer argued the former judge misused his position and influence. According to prosecution, Irfan murdered Aqib in Hyderabad in 2014.

Incomplete report

An ATC ordered a Joint Investigation Team to produce a report and relevant documents, in the case against Pakistan Peoples Party leader Dr Asim Hussain, accused of treating kidneys of terrorists at his hospital.
