K-P transfers 21 senior officers

Transfers include secretaries and director generals

PESHAWAR: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the provincial government on Thursday transferred 21 senior officers, including those at the secretary and director general levels.

According to a notification issued by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Establishment Department on Thursday, the Administration Department secretary Muhammad Saleem, a Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS) officer in Basic Pay Scale (BPS) grade 21, has been transferred and posted as the secretary of the Energy and Power Department.

Saleem will replace the department’s incumbent secretary, PAS officer in BS-20 Syed Zafar Ali, who has been directed to report to the establishment department.

Meanwhile, the Home Department’s Special Secretary Imtiaz Ayub, a PCS officer in BPS-19, has been transferred and posted as the Administration Department secretary.

Moreover, the Provincial Inspection Team (PIT) Chairman Farrakh Sair, a Provincial Civil Services (PCS) officer of BPS-21, has been directed to report to the establishment department. He will be replaced by the Agriculture Department Secretary Muhammad Akbar Khan, a PCS officer in BPS-20.

Similarly, PCS officer in BPS-21 Zafar Iqbal, who was awaiting posting, has been posted as the Science and Information Technology secretary.

Mines Department Secretary Syed Muhammad Shah, a PCS officer in BPS-20, has also been directed to report to the establishment department.

Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) Development Authority (FDA) Chief Executive Officer Syed Alamgir Shah, a PCS officer in BPS-20, has been transferred and posted as Shah’s successor as the Mines Department secretary.

Environment Department Secretary Zakir Hussain Afridi, a PCS officer in BPS-20, has been transferred and posted as the K-P Textbook Board chairman. He will replace the incumbent chairman of the board, PCS officer in BPS-20 Dawood Khan. The latter has in turn been transferred and posted as the Irrigation Department secretary.

Staff Training Institute Director Mukhtiar Ahmed, a PCS officer in BPS-20, has been transferred and posted as the Elementary and Secondary Education Department secretary.

Muhammad Abid Majeed, a PCS officer in BPS-20 who was awaiting posting, has been transferred and posted as the Excise and Taxation secretary.

Usman Yaqoob, SG officer in BPS-20 awaiting posting, has been transferred and posted as the Industries Department secretary.

Higher Education Special Secretary Manzoor Ahmed, a PCS officer in BPS-20, has been elevated to the post of secretary in the same department.

Tahir Orakzai, a PCS officer in BPS-19 who has been awaiting posting, has been posted as the K-P Revenue Authority’s director general. He will replace K-PRA’s incumbent chief Nasir Khan.

Nasir, a BPS-19 officer, has been directed to report to the Excise and Taxation Department.

Relief and Rehabilitation Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Shah has been directed to report to the administration department.

ST&IT secretary Qaiser Alam, a BPS-19 officer of the Protocol Wing, has been appointed as the secretary of the Information Department on a deputation basis, reliving the Public Health secretary of the additional charge.

Dr Asad Ali Khan, a BPS-19 officer from the Planning and Development cadre who was awaiting posting, has been deputed as the Relief Secretary while PCS officer in BPS-19 Mutanzir Khan, who was serving as Zakat and Usher Department’s additional secretary, has been transferred and posted as the Mines and Mineral Directorate director general.

Moreover, the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Muhammad Israr, a PCS officer in BPS-19, has been given additional charge as the Agriculture Department secretary.
