'Tabdeeli' takes time, Imran Khan doesn't have a magic wand: First lady

Bushra Bibi says PM Imran and Turkey's Erdogan only true modern leaders

In her maiden interview after becoming the first lady, Bushra Imran said that tabdeeli her husband Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to bring to the country "will take time as he does not have a magic wand to fix everything".

"I know he [Imran] wants to give back to his country and has no personal interests when it comes to Pakistan," she said during an interview to Hum News.

Earlier this year, the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran married his spiritual healer Bushra Wattoo, also known as Pinky in the area.

The first lady went on to say that PM Imran has no element of greed in him and only wants the best for the country. "I think you need to differentiate between a politician and a leader, Imran is a true leader in modern times."

While showering praise on her husband, she said: "There are only two leaders in the 21st century – Imran Khan and Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan."

The nation, Bushra Bibi said, is lucky to have a leader such as her husband.

"He [Imran] is working tirelessly for the betterment of Pakistan and I hope he will take the country to new heights," she added.

Over the past couple of years, the premier had quietly been visiting a remote town in Sahiwal where he stayed for a few hours at the residence of his hosts, who belong to the influential Maneka clan.

The PTI chief was previously married to British socialite Jemima Goldsmith in 1995. He had two sons with her before the relationship ended in divorce in 2004. He then married journalist Reham Khan in 2015, but the marriage ended after just 10 months.
