Punjab: 18-year-old girl allegedly abducted, gang raped
The culprits took the victim back to the fields and left her injured and unconscious

An 18-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped in Rahim Yar Khan’s Machi Goth Village, Express News reported on Monday.
An official from Ahmedpur Lamah said that 18-year-old M*, a resident of Basti Wilana, went to the fields when accused Liaquat Ali, Yaseen and Nadeem abducted her. He added that the culprits took her to an undisclosed location where two more suspects were waiting.
The official maintained that the accused allegedly gang raped the girl and forced her to consume alcohol.
He pointed out that after committing the offence, the culprits took her back to the fields and left her injured and unconscious after which they fled the scene.
Police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s father and have arrested three accused. Police said that the suspects were the victim’s relatives.
Meanwhile, the victim’s father and other family members protested against the incident and blamed a local landlord Rashid Ali of protecting the criminals. He alleged that the landlord is pressurising the family into striking a deal with the accused to withdraw the case.
He disclosed that Rashid had used his influence and managed to free accused Nadeem from police custody.
He revealed that the accused was also threatening of dire consequences and that they were living in constant fear. He said that they will protest in front of the DPO’s office if they are not provided justice.
He appealed to the chief justice, prime minister, chief minister, DPO and other officials to take notice of the matter and award punishment to those involved in the incident.
On September 23, a 14-year-old girl was raped by her stepfather in Faisalabad’s Millat Town area.
The victim’s mother told the police that she had married Latif Masih, who was her second husband.
She added that she had a daughter M* from her previous marriage who lived with them. The woman stated that on the day of the incident, she went out to buy vegetables when accused Latif allegedly sexually abused her daughter.
G* maintained that when she returned home, she found the victim injured and unconscious. She said that after committing the crime, her husband fled the scene. She said Latif had been missing since the incident took place.
The woman said her brothers-in-law pressurised her into not registering a case against her husband. The victim’s mother revealed that they also threatened her and the victim of dire consequences if she took legal action against them.
