On September 18, Marvel released the trailer of its most anticipated film Captain Marvel. Needless to say, it's got the world going gaga. While the two-minute-long clip introduces Brie Larson as Carol Denvers, there might have been some details that fans would have missed, reported Vox.

First footage of 'Captain Marvel' and 'Avengers 4' revealed

Captain Marvel is set in the 1990s and features a young Nick Fury and Phil Coulson, played  by Samuel L Jackson and Clark Gress, respectively. Although, it also shows Jude Law, audiences are still not sure of the character he will play in the film. According to Buzzfeed, rumours state that Law will be essaying Mar-Vell who was Captain Marvel before Denvers took the title. It's not certain how his story will play out but the comics state that he acts as a mentor to Denvers.

The Larson-starrer will revolve around Denvers as she is caught in a war between the Earth and the alien race called the Skrulls and Kree. She is also an outlaw who seems to suffer from amnesia as she can't recall who she is or what she's supposed to be.

As seen in the trailer, Denvers punches an old lady in the bus which could mean that the woman was probably a Skrull - part of the alien race that has the power to shape shift. This could in turn mean that Denvers has the ability to detect Skrulls which might come in handy - even in Avengers 4.

The film will also show how Captain Marvel got her powers. The comic books reveal that Denvers has super strength and the ability to fly, but more often than not, films tend to deviate from the comics. However, a scene in the trailer shows a woman in a dark green Air Force jumpsuit as she's hit by a bright explosion. This could signal that Denvers was a human before she got her superpowers.

While we know that Larson's character is fighting a villain in the film, it's still unsure who she will be up against. A clip shows her flexing her wrist to fight the enemy but the face or details of who it could be are not revealed. The protagonist appears to be in a black spacesuit who does not seem to belong to Fury's team or the Skrulls. Could this be Mar-Vell?

Expansion of the Marvel-lous universe

We'll have to wait till March 8, 2019, to find out as Captain Marvel hits screens across the world on International Women's Day.
