For the people: New rates for daily use commodities fixed
DPCC spokesperson says the rates of vegetables and poultry items will be issued on a day-to-day basis

The District Price Control Committee (DPCC) has assigned new rates for daily use commodities for people’s convenience.
A spokesperson for the committee revealed that sugar will be sold for Rs54 per kilogramme while white grams (big, local) will be sold at Rs86/kg and white grams (small, local) will be sold for Rs96/kg.
Black grams (big) will retail for Rs95/kg while black grams (small) will go for Rs89/kg. Further, gram pulses (big) and gram pulses (small) will sell for Rs96/kg and Rs94/kg respectively. Lentil pulses (big) will go for Rs69/kg and lentil pulses small will go for Rs100/kg.
Maash pulses (washed, imported) and mash pulses (unwashed, imported) will sell for Rs92/kg and Rs83/kg respectively. On the other hand, moong pulses (washed) and moong pulses (unwashed) will retail for Rs83 and Rs88 per kilogramme.
Chilli powder will be sold for Rs250/kg while gram powder will be sold for Rs98/kg. Basmati Super Karnal (new) will go for Rs107/kg and Basmati Super Karnal (old) will cost Rs130/kg.
In addition to this, milk will be sold for Rs70 per litre, yogurt for Rs75/kg, mutton for Rs650/kg, beef at Rs300/kg, roti (100 grams) for Rs6 and ice for Rs5/kg.
The rates of vegetables and poultry items will be issued on a day-to-day basis. Strict action will be taken against profiteers without any discrimination, warned the DPCC spokesperson.
People can contact the committee’s hotline if they wish to register a complaint regarding vendors hiking up the price or over charging, the spokesperson concluded.
