Meanwhile, a large number of people protested against the murder of a worker allegedly at the hands of a factory owner in Manwan. The protesters took to the streets and blocked GT Road. The victim, identified as Muhammad Nadeem, worked at an industrial unit run by Muhammad Imran in Manawan. Two days ago, the victim had a brief altercation with the accused over a delay in the payment of his wages. In a fit of rage, Imran allegedly shot Nadeem dead. An FIR had been registered against the accused, but police have yet to arrest him.
