‘Promotion of technical education a must’

Says Punjab government is paying special attention to promote technical education and prepare trained human resource

Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal said that promotion of technical education was inevitable for poverty alleviation and youth could be empowered by imparting them technical training.

He was chairing a meeting on Monday at Civil Secretariat to discuss promotion of technical education, training programme of TEVTA and a plan to bring training programmes under one umbrella.

The minister was of the view that trained human resource had a pivotal role to attain the destination of self-reliance and strengthening the national economy. He said that the Punjab government was paying a special attention to promote technical education and preparation of trained human resource, asserting that testing system of institutes of technical education would also be improved.

He mentioned that under the 100-day plan of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the process of revamping the departments had been started and positive results would soon appear. He directed the authorities concerned that work should be accelerated to bring the technical institutes under one umbrella.
