Saudi minister invites PM Imran to visit kingdom

Chinese FM, Saudi minister's visit come in the wake of US top diplomat visit to Pakistan this week

Saudi Information Minister Awwad Bin Saleh al Awwad called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Sunday and invited him to visit the kingdom.

According to Radio Pakistan, the visiting minister conveyed Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman's message of felicitation to PM Imran, congratulating him on assuming the top office.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry were also present on the occasion. Both sides exchanged views on promoting bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is on a three-day visit to Pakistan, also met Premier Imran. The two leaders discussed Pak-China bilateral relations at the PM House.

China 'not saddling Pakistan with debt': Chinese FM

Wang's three-day visit to Pakistan came in the wake of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s visit to the country earlier this week.

FM Qureshi, Foreign Secretary and Pakistan's Ambassador to China Masood Khalid were also present during the meeting with the Chinese diplomat.



The Saudi and Chinese leaders also attended Dr Arif Alvi's presidential oath-taking ceremony. Alvi was sworn in as the country's 13th president earlier on Sunday.
