Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Prisons Nasir Aftab said that the report consists of two parts. The first part is related to manipulation or elimination of evidence from the hospital room, declared as sub-jail by the authorities and negligence of jail staff on duty. The second part deals with the blood samples of Memon and his medical report.
No alcohol found in Sharjeel Memon's bloodstream, says medical report
Speaking to the The Express Tribune, Aftab said that there was 100% proof to establish the tampering of evidence from the hospital room, but there was no evidence to suggest that the medical report of Memon’s blood sample was tampered with.
He added that if blood test reports were suspected of manipulation, Memon’s DNA test could be carried out. He further added that strict action had been suggested against the negligent jail staff.
