Anwar was absent from court due to illness. However, Abdul Ghani was presented in sessions court by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to obtain physical remand. The suspects were produced before South In-charge Judge due to the absence of banking court's judge.
Investigation officer said that Anwar was unwell and the doctor had restricted his movement. FIA requested an extension in the physical remand of the suspects. The suspect's lawyer, on the other hand, opposed the idea stating that Anwar was suffering from internal bleeding and sought an order for medical examination in Agha Khan University Hospital. The lawyer requested that Anwar be sent on judicial remand instead.

The suspect's lawyer told the court that FIA officials had interrogated Abdul Ghani the entire night and wanted him to be medically examined.
Prosecutor countered the argument by stating that the interrogation was incomplete and in order to secure the records related to money laundering, remand should be extended. Suspect's lawyer said that FIA should obtain records from relevant banks, not the suspects.
The court ordered medical examination of Abdul Ghani and directed that the report be presented in the concerned court. It, however, extended Anwar and Abdul Ghani Majeed's physical remand till August 27.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Abdul Qayoom Soomro and large numbers of lawyers from Peoples Lawyers Forum were present in the court.
Other accused persons in the case include former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister, Faryal Talpur.
