Police raid obscene dance party, arrest 21

KARACHI:

Police on Sunday raided a café-club in DHA Phase 6, and foiled an ongoing obscene dance party, arresting 16 men and 5 women, officials said.

According to police, the raid was conducted on the cafe located at Chota Nashat, Commercial Lane 4, following a secret tip-off. The club was reportedly hosting an obscene dance party with loud music, while hookah and sheesha were also being used on the premises.

Several participants, including a person named Farwa, managed to escape during the operation.

Police said the arrested suspects were charged with performing obscene acts, indecent dancing to loud music, and using hookah and sheesha. Police also seized three hookahs/sheeshas, 11 flavoured tobacco packs, and heavy-sized speakers from the club.

An FIR has been registered under Sections 294, 269, 270, 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and Sections 4 and 6 of the Sound System Ordinance 2015.
