Eidul Azha celebrated in various parts of K-P

People in tribal areas and Afghan refugee camps followed Saudi Arabia

SHABQADAR: Eidul Azha was celebrated on Tuesday in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkwa (K-P) including areas of former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and Afghan refugees’ camps.

Eid was also celebrated in most parts of Mohmand and Bajaur and other tribal districts but the official Eid in these districts will be observed on Wednesday with the rest of the county.

In these areas, Eidul Fitr is usually celebrated in line with announcement of the unofficial moon-sighting committee of Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai of Peshawar’s Masjid Qasim Ali Khan mosque, but Eidul Azha is celebrated with Saudi Arabia



In upper Mohmand and Baizai subdivisions, the Eid was celebrated on Tuesday but in lower sub division it will be observed on Wednesday. Similarly in Nawagai and Utman Khel, the Eid was celebrated with Saudi Arabia but in Salarzai it will be celebrated with the rest of Pakistan.

In other tribal districts, Eid was celebrated in the same manner. Someone people celebrated it with Saudi Arabia but most of the people will celebrate it with the rest of Pakistan.

In the K-P’s lower districts, Eid will be celebrated today (Wednesday) with the rest of Pakistan but Afghan refugees living in camps in Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshehra and Sawabi  and other southern districts have celebrated their Eid with Afghanistan. The Afghan refugees slaughters sacrificial animal after Eid congregations in their camps.
