HYDERABAD: A high school teacher was shot dead in Sanghar district on Saturday. Ghulam Akbar Mallah, a science teacher, was on his way to school when he was attacked by unidentified armed men in a local market within the limits of Mangli police station.

DSP Pir Bux Chandio told the media that Ghulam died while being transported to the local hospital. The DSP said neither the killer nor the cause of murder were known.

Ali Dino Mallah, Ghulam's cousin, said the slain person had no enmity and that the family does not suspect anyone.

Government School Teachers Association's Sanghar-based leader Rustam Ali Nizamani condemned the incident. "Even teachers are not safe now," he observed. He gave an ultimatum to the police to arrest and expose the culprits, warning of protests in schools otherwise.
