Two convicted of kidnapping, raping schoolgirl in Multan

Police arrest the culprit after they loot a school van and abduct a 12-year-old girl who they sexually assualted

MULTAN: An anti-terrorist court awarded 70 years imprisonment and 47-year-jail term to two accused who were involved in abducting and sexually assaulting a girl in Multan.

The judgment was announced by Court No 1. The prosecution told the court that on January 25, 2018, accused Sajjad Ahmed and Muhammad Tariq intercepted a school van and looted cash and mobile phones from the driver and a teacher on board. The accused also kidnapped a 12-year-old schoolgirl and fled the scene.

The culprits sexually assaulted the girl and threw her at an isolated place after committing the offence.

Later, police arrested the culprits and registered a case against them. After hearing the statements and considering the evidence, the ATC judge handed down a 70-year jail term to Sajjad and imposed a fine of Rs0.8 million on him. The court sentenced Tariq to 47 years  and imposed a fine of Rs0.6 million.
