Seven people were arrested for garlanding an old man with shoes around his neck after his son hurled a stone at the landlord’s dogs.
In Kahror Lal Moza Baseera area, 12-year-old Arif pelted landlord Ghulam Abbas’s dogs with stones a week ago.
After the incident, the boy and his 70-year-old father were garlanded with shoes by a panchayat.
The police arrested Niamat Ali, Zafar Iqbal, Faryad Hussain, Murid Hussain, Niaz Hussain, Kausar Abbas and Mukhtiar Hussain in this regard.
Raids are being conducted to arrest the landlord and remaining panchayat members.
