Sohail Tanvir fined 15% match fee for obscene gesture

Left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir has been fined 15% of his match fee for making an obscene gesture during a game in the Caribbean Premier League.

Tanvir, who is playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors showed double-middle finger to St Kitts and Nevis Patriots hard-hitting batsman Chris Lynn after dismissing him with a yorker.

Prior to that delivery, Lynn smashed Tanvir out of the park over the long-on region for a maximum.


Tavir accepted the fine which was handed by match referee Denavon Hayles for his actions in the incident which occurred during the 17th over of the innings.

Tanvir finished the innings with figures of one for 24 as Warriors went on to register a comfortable four-wicket win in the contest.

The Multan Sultans pacer was the highest wicket-taker in the CPL’s previous season and was retained by the Warriors.
