The police on Friday arrested three men accused of raping an 18-year-old girl at a farm house in Gulshan-e-Maymar. The fourth suspect believed to be the prime accused is still at large.
Gulshan-e-Maymar SHO Jamshed Khan informed The Express Tribune that the victim was a resident of Landhi and left her home after a family dispute five days back and had gone to a friend's house. Her friend along with his three friends took her to a farmhouse on Thursday night, where they raped her. The prime accused, Faizan, fled the scene immediately.
The police were notified of the situation when the accused took the victim to a private hospital where the doctors, suspecting foul play, informed the police. The police, upon reaching the hospital, arrested three suspects, Shahrukh, Ahsan and Maaz.

Shahrukh told the police that he was a resident of Landhi and worked as a driver in a cab hailing service. He said that the victim was his friend who had called him to Saddar on Thursday night and asked him to take her somewhere. He thus, took her to a farm house with his friends. At night she informed him that she had not eaten anything for four-days so he went out to buy food. In his absence one of his friends, Faizan, came and raped her, leaving her unconscious, he ran away from the scene.
According to the SHO, raids were being conducted to arrest the accused. He added that the guard of the farm house had also been included in the investigation for renting out the farmhouse without verification. SHO further said that the victim's uncle had lodged a complaint against Faizan. SHO said that the victim's family had however, not filed a case of the girl's absence with the Landhi police as she normally used to go to her friend's house after fights at home. The case is being investigated from all angles.
The victim was taken into custody and shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Additional police surgeon at the hospital, Dr Saleem confirmed to The Express Tribune that evidences of rape was found.
