Six killed, 16 injured in Indus Highway accidents

HYDERABAD: The 132-kilometer stretch of the Indus Highway between Jamshoro and Sehwan frequently witnesses accidents. On Sunday, four fatal accidents on the highway in Jamshoro district claimed six lives, leaving 16 others injured.

A couple belonging to Dadu district's rural town Johi was killed in a collision between two cars on the highway near Sehwan. Up to 10 persons including women and children were also injured in the accident. The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Yousuf Thaeem and his wife Momal Thaeem.

Six killed in different incidents

Another accident took place on the highway near rural town of Manjhand where 27-year-old Farrukh Babar Sahito, who belonged to Hyderabad, and an unidentified woman in her twenties were killed. The two were travelling from Hyderabad to Sehwan when their car was hit by a truck on the highway. The woman's dead body has been kept in the mortuary at Liaquat University Hospital (LUH).

In the third accident a rickshaw and a car collided and a young man, Jugnu Mari was killed. Six other persons travelling in the two vehicles were injured and shifted to LUH.

In another incident, 60-year-old Abdul Raheem was run over by a truck on the highway in Jamshoro.
