Death toll rises to 20 in bus-oil tanker collision on Indus Highway
At least 35 wounded in the accident

The death toll from Saturday’s passenger bus and oil tanker collision on Indus Highway to 20 with 35 others wounded, Rescue 1122 to The Express Tribune.
According to details, a bus heading to Karachi from Malakand Division’s Buner district collided with an oil tanker near Lachi Tehsil in Kohat. Sources said most of the victims belonged to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Buner and Mardan districts.
Road accidents claim five lives
Both the vehicles were severely damaged due to the forceful impact of the collision. Rescue teams cut through the roof to pull out bodies and injured passengers, who were then moved to Liaquat Memorial Hospital and KDA Hospital in Kohat.
The Indus Highway is a 1,264 kilometre-long four-lane national highway that connects the port city Karachi with northwestern city of Peshawar. It passes through Hyderabad, Dadu, Shikarpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lakki Marwat, Kohat.

Last month, at least 17 were killed while 11 sustained serious injuries when a speedy trailer hit a bus carrying a wedding procession on National Highway on the way to the city of Hyderabad.
The bus, carrying members of a family on their way to attend a wedding, was parked on a road-side in Hala after a fault in the vehicle led to a stop. While awaiting help, a speeding trailer came from the back and collided with the bus.
