KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) winning candidate from Azizabad NA-254, Muhammad Aslam Khan, is a proclaimed offender in a smuggling case. On October 29, 1997, a Customs court had declared Khan a proclaimed offender.

The Muttahida Quami Movement - Pakistan's Sheikh Salahuddin, who lost to Aslam Khan, on Friday, filed an application with the returning officer (RO) of the constituency. Salahuddin also submitted a copy of the Customs court's order.

While presenting the order of the Customs court as evidence to the RO, Salahuddin maintained that Khan was a convict in the smuggling case. He said, "Khan hid the details in his nomination papers therefore, he doesn't remain sadiq and amin anymore."

He added that the Election Commission of Pakistan should disqualify Khan.
