The upcoming project will touching upon the concept of fat-shaming in society. Budding actor Pihu Sand who plays Anil's daughter in Fanney Khan is seen being ridiculed in the film. So far, the audience is lauding the efforts of the film-makers for finally bringing the social issue into the limelight.

According to Times Now News, the female lead of Fanney Khan Aishwarya, who plays pop singer Baby Singh has received her own share of fat-shaming in the past. The actor understands how hurtful it can be as she too was a victim of it during her post-pregnancy period.

Speaking to film critic Rajeev Masand in an interview, Aishwarya came clean about her experience with the social evil. She said, "While Fanney Khan speaks about body-shaming, to me it’s about self-esteem which I think is the larger topic. 'Fat' is the ‘F’ word that everyone’s worried about today."


The Josh actor added that people politely use the term "overweight" but it usually depends on the text. "If you are judging someone just because they're overweight then of course it is a social evil," Aishwarya explained.

The 44-year-old actor suggested that one can either fight fat-shaming or just be comfortable in their own skin, stating that it only affects people who succumb to it. Sharing her own experience, Aishwarya revealed, "Body-shaming is just one aspect at a certain period in my life. The reason I am able to handle it is because I have faced judgement in my life for so long. People including teachers in my school judged me for choosing modelling as a professional career."

The former model concluded that the judgmental experiences she has faced during her life have helped her to come out stronger. "People think that if you look a certain way, you won’t be judged. But, believe me, irrespective of how you look, everybody gets faces judgement for something or the other."
