ANF officials recovered 80 capsules of heroin from the passenger's stomach

Airport authorities on Friday arrested a passenger travelling on an international airline and recovered a sizeable quantity of drugs from his possession.

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered 80 heroin capsules from the passenger's stomach. Officials confirmed the individual was travelling to Qatar from Islamabad International Airport (IIA), reported Express News.

The accused was taken into custody and an investigation was initiated by authorities.

Police net 24 suspects, recover guns, drugs and liquor

On June 23, Islamabad police arrested 24 suspects, including seven drug pushers, and recovered cash, 139 liquor bottles, 1.6 kilograms of hashish and weapons from them, a police spokesperson said.

On May 30, ANF seized 1.557 tons narcotics worth Rs1.11 billion in the international market, arrested 33 persons involved in drug smuggling and impounded seven vehicles while conducting 22 counter-narcotics strikes across the country.

According to the spokesperson, the seized drugs included 1,548kg hashish, 8.7kg heroin and 750 grammes amphetamine. The Quetta ANF, acting on a tip-off, placed a check post at Lasbela-Karachi Road strictly checking vehicles proceeding towards Karachi.
