The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sukkur, took a man posing as a NAB officer into custody on Sunday.

The arrest was made on the orders of NAB Chairman Justice Javed Iqbal to arrest proclaimed offenders, absconders and impersonators.

The suspect, Irshad Ali Channa, a resident of Jamshoro, was falsely claiming to be a NAB officer and using a SIM registered on someone else's name to make calls to politicians, bankers and government officers to extort money. The NAB Sukkur team traced the number, 0336-9659963, being used by Channa to arrest him with the support of Jamshoro police.
