KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court granted bail to four policemen accused in the Naqeebullah murder case on Saturday.

Meanwhile, former Malir SSP Rao Anwar claimed that the policemen accused in the Naqeebullah case were framed.

Anwar appeared before the court along with the other accused on Saturday.

The court accepted the bail of SP Qamar Hayat against a sum of Rs5 million while the bail of head constable Khizer Hayat, sub-inspector Muhammad Yaseen and assistant sub-inspector Supurd Hussain was accepted against a surety of Rs2 million each.

The court ordered the accused to submit the surety amounts and adjourned the hearing till August 18.

On the other hand, Anwar, who is the prime accused in the Naqeebullah murder case, filed bail pleas in two more cases. In his petition, Anwar alleged that police officials were framed in the case and claimed he was not involved.
