Health body fines quacks Rs72m
PHC closes down more than 6,100 quacks business

Besides closing down over 14,700 quackery outlets, the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has imposed a fine of Rs72.86 million on quacks so far.
The quacks’ businesses were being sealed continuously, and since mid-April this year, following the orders of the SC, the PHC has closed down more than 6,100 quacks business. Also, the commission has received over 2,650 applications for desealing the closed centres, and the commission is proceeding with the requests according to the orders of the judiciary.
The spokesperson for PHC said a huge number of qualified healthcare establishments have been registered and licensed by the PHC during the anti-quackery campaign.
