Transporters reaping windfall from situation

ISLAMABAD: The transport business in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi has witnessed a big boom due to the sudden rush by political parties and contestants have hired transport vehicles to facilitate their voters on Election Day.

This is music to the ears of transporters who are reaping a windfall from the situation.



According to reports  the candidates were in a rush to hire public transport vehicles even a day before the polling day because they feared that the delay might cause a greater problems for their voters.

Almost all the owners of rent-a-car businesses have introduced attractive packages for those interested and are providing various luxury vehicles to their VIP voters. Rental rates of flashy brands have doubled, even tripled, in the last two months, said a citizen Faizan Ali.

Candidates shuttled voters to polling stations and then back to their homes, said a voter Noman Ali.
