We will not let Gwadar become another Dera Bugti: Bhootani
Former BA speaker says people of Gwadar have first right on its resources
QUETTA:
Former Balochistan Assembly speaker Aslam Bhootani has said if demanding rights from the state tantamount to treason, we accept such allegations because we believe that the people of Gwadar have the first right on its resources.
He shared these views while talking to journalists at the Pasni Press Club where National Party’s spokesperson Jan Muhammad Buledi also shared his views.
Former BA speaker vows to overcome Gwadar water shortage
Bhootani said, “People of Gwadar have expectations from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, but unfortunately they are deprived of even drinking water. They are the first beneficiaries of the resources of Gwadar.”
Bhootani vowed not to let Gwadar become another Dera Bugti.
He said, “Gwadar is a deep port city where many international powers are willing to disrupt the process of development work because China’s mega investment here is annoying many countries in the region.”
Election candidate for NA-272 Lasbela-Gwadar, Bhootani, said, “If I get elected, my first priority will be to address the issues of the people of Gwadar.

“Though I am not a nationalist, but for the rights of my people I will raise my voice at every platform even if my views do not sit well with others.”
Bhootani said CPEC would open doors to private jobs in the province for which “we should pay keen attention towards education”.
NP spokesperson Buledi said, “NA-272 is the most important constituency of the country as the international community has its eyes fixed on the Gwadar Port.
“The journey of Pakistan’s development starts from Gwadar, which increases the burden of responsibilities on the political leadership of Balochistan, particularly Gwadar. The people of Gwadar have to select real leadership for survival.”
He said, “Fortunately sincere politicians like Aslam Bhootani and Ashraf Hussain are contesting from Gwadar which is a sign of hope for the people of Gwadar as well as Lasbela.
