BAHAWALPUR: A ban has been imposed on the registration of cases based on political grounds during the elections. The act of harassing and exacting revenge against the political opponents or voters will not be tolerated.

This was said by Bahawalpur District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Iqbal while speaking to journalists on Monday. He added directives had been issued to SHOs of 24 police stations throughout the district and circle DSPs that no FIR should be registered against any political opponent or voter even if the complainant is an influential political figure. He added that it had been witnessed in the past that political parties would lodge fake cases against their opponents to damage their reputation.
