Senate reshuffle: Wasim Sajjad’s resignation accepted

Sajjad submitted his resignation earlier this month after his party PML-Q formed an alliance with the PPP.

ISLAMABAD: Acting Chairman of the Senate Jan Muhammad Jamali accepted on Monday Senator Wasim Sajjad’s resignation as leader of the opposition in the upper house, paving way for the election of a new leader.

Senator Sajjad, from the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), submitted his resignation earlier this month after his party formed an alliance with the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and joined the federal government.
