“The Balochistan police finalised Balochistan Restriction Rented Building Security Act so that house owners, property dealers and people living on rent can share all details with the police while renting their property,” said the Quetta DIG.

DIG Cheema said, “It has been revealed during recent raids on terrorists hiding in compounds of rented places that terrorists easily obtain such properties to carry out terror activities in Quetta.”
He said that the act had been implemented in the province in March 2016 and since then a total of 66 cases of violation of rental act had been lodged while 124 people had been arrested and charged in Balochistan.
“We have directed all station house officers (SHOs) to collect details of all property dealers and caution them to inform the local police while giving any property on rent,” he said. “We have been urging the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies against the menace of terrorism because we can’t win the war unless we have public support.”
