SECP cancels registration of fake company

The Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) cancelled the registration of a fake company in the name of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE).

The company was obtained by Khushnood Ali Khan on false, contrary to incorrect facts, misleading information in a deceptive manner.

The decision was taken by the commission after a complaint was filed by the CPNE against illegal registration. Commission has directed Khan to change the name of his company within a month or the commission will do it itself.

SECP Registrar Liaqat Ali Dolla declared that Khushnood Ali Khan had got his company registered in the name of CPNE by concealing facts, providing incorrect information and misleading the commission, which was an illegal act as per the law.

SECP introduces amendment to simplify registration

The CPNE office bearers congratulated the council members on this achievement and observed that the conspiracy aimed at targeting the CPNE through grouping, misleading campaigns, and forgery had been foiled.  They vowed that the country’s editor community would stand united and frustrate any further attempt against CPNE in the future.
