Man shot dead over enmity

Police seized 2,000 grammes of hashish, 30 bottles of liquor, two guns, a rifle and four pistols from their possession

A man was shot dead in Shahpur Saddar police limits on Thursday.

A police official said Muhammad Nawaz, a resident of Shahpur Saddar, was gunned down by unidentified men. After the incident, the assailants fled the scene.

The police believed that the murder was the result of an old enmity. A case had been registered, while further investigation was underway. In another incident, a labourer was killed after he fell from the hills in Sillanwali police limits.

The police said that Muhammad Rafiq, hailing from Azad Kashmir, was busy cutting stones in Chak No 126 of Block 10 when he fell from the hills and died on the spot. Rescue officials shifted the body to the local hospital for legal formalities.

Meanwhile, the district police claimed to have arrested 10 drug pushers.
