Democracy in action: Angry voters question Sikandar Hayat Bosan over his 'performance'
Bosan has been facing criticism from PTI workers for his candidature in NA-154
Former federal minister Sikander Hayat Bosan was left baffled when his constituents barred him from entering his constituency on a campaign visit over the weekend.
In a footage shared on social media, the former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader can be seen struggling to grasp the situation as angry voters surround his vehicle, demanding why he sought their votes. The protesters claimed Bosan had failed to visit his constituency, NA-154 (Multan-I) while he served as their representative in the National Assembly.
The protesters also chanted slogans, accusing Bosan, who served as Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research in former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s cabinet from August 2017 to May 2018, of being a ‘turncoat’ and ‘thief’.
Disgruntled PTI workers continue protest outside Bani Gala
The seasoned politician had a brief stint with PTI ahead of General Elections 2013 as he waited for PML-N to act. After serving as MNA for the Nawaz-led party, Bosan has now joined PTI and is expected to contest NA-154 on party ticket. His candidature has brought severe backlash from PTI workers who expressed their reservations in a demonstration outside Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence last week.
Bosan, one of the most powerful politicians from Multan, defeated former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani in 1997 elections.
