Greetings from Japan
Sehrish Khan flies us to Japan!
Japan is a country I have long wanted to visit! With its incredible mountainous landscapes, it is home to some of the world’s most chaotic and quirky cities, a long history of culture and tradition, and of course incredible cuisine. I had the chance to visit Japan’s capital, Tokyo - which is wonderful and completely whacky at the same time - the idyllic city of Kyoto and the picturesque city of Osaka. From the picturesque landscapes to the peaceful Mount Fuji; I had the trip of a lifetime!
Osaka
Places to see:
Dotonbori had excellent food, excellent shopping and an excellent crowd. For women who are interested in Japanese skincare, this is where you can get all the amazing Japanese skincare products (buy the famous Lululun face masks). Also run into the Iconic Glico Man which is a symbolic billboard in Japan.
• Osaka Castle Park
• Namba Yasaka Shrine
• Shitennō-ji temple
Best place to eat here:
• Ali’s kitchen in Dotonbori- amazing biryani and kebabs japanese style!
• Pablo in Dotonbori - great dessert place
Kyoto
Places to see:
• Kinkaku-ji Temple with Golden Pavilion Hours
• Nijo Castle
• Kiyomizu-dera Temple
• Arashiyama Bamboo Grove
• Fushimi Inari-Taisha

Best places to eat here:
• Street food! All the temples around them have arts, crafts and food stalls/shops.
Hakone
This place is known for its natural hot springs. We opted for a private Onsen and an Infinity Rooftop Onsen at Hakone Kowakien TEN-YU. Enjoyed Japanese style buffet and dinner at the hotel.
Fuji
Places to see:
• Shiraito Falls
• Fuji Shibasakura Festival
• Chureito Pagoda Temple
• Fuji National Park
• Fuji Five Lakes
Best places to eat here:
• We chose to dine in with a Japanese family at an AirBnB and had Japanese style home-made breakfast and dinner, which was a great experience!
