LAHORE:
A spokesman for the Agriculture Department said that a warehouse-receipt programme on a public-private partnership model has been initiated, in order to protect the farmers and commodities.

Under this programme, called the Agriculture Warehouse-receipt programme, farmers will be able to store their commodities at warehouses.

Facilitating Farmers: 230 wheat procurement centres set up

These warehouses will be able to store a commodity for longer periods with the help of modern technology.

Farmers will open their accounts by contacting the bank (nominated) and then contact the fixed warehouse management.

The required quality of agricultural commodity will then reach the warehouse. After receipt of the weight and ensuring quality of the environment properly, farmers will get receipts from the warehouse management.

Farmers will be able to customise agricultural gender to any institution or person according to the rate of interest at any time, and payment can be made through the relevant bank.

Agri dept reiterates pledge to ‘modernise’ farming

The amount of the sale will be paid to the farmers’ bank due to the amount sold. Under this programme, MCB Bank will facilitate farmers to issue loans. Other allied facilitators are Directorate of Agricultural Information, Punjab and Islamabad Field Mills ,Okara, which will also act as buyer of warehouse consumer.
