Jacqueline Fernandez suffers permanent eye injury on 'Race 3' sets

In March, Jacqueline suffered an eye injury while shooting for her upcoming film Race 3.  Yesterday, the actor took to Instagram to confirm that the injury is permanent.

The Kick star shared a photo of her eye and wrote, "So it’s a permanent injury and my iris will never be a perfect round again. But I'm very grateful that I can still see!"

As reported by Times of India, Jacqueline was injured playing squash while shooting in Abu Dhabi and immediately rushed to the hospital. Producer Ramesh Taurani confirmed the news saying, "Yes, it was a minor injury. Jacqueline was hurt above the eye while playing squash. She is better now and has resumed shooting."

Race 3 is directed by Remo D’Souza and also stars Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem. According to reports, the film will release in 3D which will make it one of the first Bollywood action films to do so.

Giving an insight into the thriller, Jacqueline said, “Race 3 is not a continuation of Race 2. It is a different story of a family where the narration has elements of mystery, power struggle, betrayal and suspense.”

She also addressed the portrayal of women in modern cinema saying, “It is great to see that we are getting the opportunity to project ourselves like real fighters and as strong as our male counterparts. My character fights the way a girl would fight in real life if she is attacked.”
