The third instalment of hit franchise Race is a two-hero film with Salman starring in the main lead opposite Jacqueline Fernandez.

The producers have been searching high and low for their second hero for quite a while now. Although Sidharth Malhotra was the first to be considered, the Ek Villain star turned it down as he "didn't like the script."

After that, rumours surfaced that it was Aditya Roy Kapur who was next on the list. But Aditya, too, didn't sign on the dotted line.

But, according to India.com, Emraan Hashmi might be the one to actually play the role. “Emraan has been cast as the other hero in Race 3," a source informed DNA.

They added, "After talks with Sid and Adi didn’t work out, the makers approached Emraan and he has agreed to do the film. He will be romancing Daisy Shah in the film.”

However, there has been no official announcement on this matter.

On another note, actor Jacqueline Fernandez is all excited for the upcoming film but says that she found her role in the film quite challenging.

"It's a very different role. I am really excited to play my character because it's actually a role that sees me in very different light," said Jacqueline. "Just like it was in Race, in this film all the characters are negative until you come to know who's the good guy."

She continued, "Now that we have Salman on board and Remo is directing, it's a completely new take on the franchise, so it will be exciting."

Salman and Jacqueline previously shared screen space in Kick, "After Kick, my career changed a lot for the better. I really do owe a lot to him (Salman) for that. He put his faith in me and did a film with me when I didn't had faith in myself. "

The Bollywood diva added, "At that time, we did a 200 crore film and now that we are doing Race 3 together, I am hoping to hit that mark again."
