Sharing is caring: Young volunteers host Iftar

Also collect and distribute rations and eid gifts for underprivileged

ISLAMABAD: Sights of people breaking their fast collectively are common at markets, grounds, roadsides and hospitals since many philanthropists, organisations and individuals have been arranging Iftar for underprivileged people or those who are away from their homes.

Such a scene was witnessed at Master Ayub School at F-6 where underprivileged children, students sat together with the team of Sharing Happiness, a group of young volunteers some from Bahria University, and had Iftar with dignity, respect, and love.



Sharing Happiness is operating in various segments of society to promote social welfare and equality, primarily for the common good and general welfare of the under-privileged people of the community.

So far this Ramazan it has held Iftars for Master Ayub School, MGQ Old Home and for the duty staff and guards of the District Bar Council, Rawalpindi.

“In the holy month of Ramazan, the Sharing Happiness (SH) team is conducting various activities including Iftaar drives, ration distribution, Eid gift packs,” said founder of SH team Mehwish Kamran, adding that, “all team members are contributing financially and morally to support the SH activities.”

It all started with an inspiration to spread happiness and love, she said, as we see too much sadness and misery in our society.



SH is carrying out projects to make a difference in terms of education, health and finance to make those who are less fortunate and from the underprivileged community, respectable members of society.

The volunteers, she said, collectively want to build a caring community with dignity, harmony and happiness to promote social and economic empowerment, equality and protection of basic rights of needy people using community and welfare approaches.
