FIR lodged against Hamza Shehbaz

An FIR has been registered against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Hamza Shehbaz over complaint of the alleged ex-wife of the former MNA, Ayesha Ahad.
The report has been filed in the Islampura police station on orders of the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar under sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), 382 (Theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to the committing of the theft), 337 (Shajjah/hurt with criminal intent), 148, 149 (unlawful assembly), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 511 (Punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or for a shorter terms).

Other accused persons nominated in the FIR include Hamza’s brother-in-law Ali Imran, senator Rana Maqbool, Inspectors Zulfiqar Cheema and Ateeq Dogar.
The complainant has stated that on October 03, 2011, Ayesha had informed police about an incident for registration of FIR that the two accused inspectors had threatened and forced her to sign some documents on the orders of an influential personality. She did not reveal the name of the personality at the time.
However, on June 02, 2018, Ayesha appeared before SC Lahore registry and revealed that it was Hamza Shehbaz, son of former Punjab CM and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif who had issued these orders. She added that her family’s political opponents in connivance with police officers registered a fake FIR against her and to ensure she isn’t let out on bail, another fake report was filed.
Ayesha, who on several occasions has sought justice from the media and other forums, contended that on October 3, 2011, Inspectors Ateeq Dogar and Zulfiqar Cheema along with 30 police constables intercepted her outside the sessions court and tortured her and her daughter.
“They dragged us by the hair, our clothes were ripped apart due to the torture and when my mother resisted, they even laid hands on her,” she claimed, adding that the three women were also threatened they will be shot dead by the cops.

She also mentioned that they snatched $2,000 in cash and other valuables from her while also warning her of dire consequences if she didn’t oblige. Afterwards, the two inspectors locked her in a room, where Shehbaz’s son-in-law Ali Imran and others beat her with clubs.
“We are teaching her a lesson as per your orders,” were the words of Cheema as he informed the then Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah over the phone, said Ayesha in her statement. She added that they kept her locked away until her bail was granted and she also has a medical report supporting her claims.
